Filmmaker | Photographer | Strategic Creative
Based in San Antonio, Edward Garza Jr. is an award-winning filmmaker and photographer with over 12 years of experience at the intersection of cinematic storytelling and technical precision. As the founder of Egret Eye—revitalized through a 2026 relaunch—Edward manages end-to-end production, specializing in architectural cinematography and advanced post-production for high-stakes commercial and creative projects.
His work is defined by a rigorous commitment to the craft, earning him consecutive 1st Place SMPS awards and an FY 2024 Artist Grant for his documentary, The Aviary. Whether directing commercial productions or capturing technical site imagery, Edward’s mastery of the lens is designed to bridge the gap between architectural documentation and narrative depth.

A Life in Focus
Edward’s creative identity is rooted in a fascination with the intersection of culture and environment. He finds constant inspiration in the vibrant, lived-in culture of places like Cuba—themes that have defined his work since his earliest photo installations. This foundational interest in documenting resilience and texture continues to inform his current philosophy: finding the "soul" within every structure or landscape.
Away from the studio, Edward is a dedicated advocate for San Antonio’s evolving identity, often found documenting the quiet intersection of heritage and modern development through projects like CNTR CTY. This commitment to community storytelling extends to his work directing and producing creative projects at Grace Avenue Church, where he translates faith and mission into compelling visual narratives. For Edward, the journey behind the camera is as vital as the final frame. He remains committed to a philosophy where technical excellence meets raw, human authenticity, believing that the most compelling stories are told through meticulous attention to detail and a genuine connection to the community.

When the gear is packed away, Edward’s life is anchored by his family and his deep Texas roots. He shares his home with his wife, Bianca, and their Beagle, Hooper. A life-long Dallas Cowboys fan and a die-hard Spurs supporter, he carries the same loyalty to his teams as he does to his craft. To recharge, Edward heads outdoors, finding balance and perspective through hunting, fishing, and exploring the expansive Texas wilderness.
Beyond the Lens
Most brands blend in
because their visuals do.
WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO
In industries like architecture, engineering, and construction, the work is impressive—but the storytelling often isn’t. Safe angles. Predictable shots. Content that documents instead of inspires.
The result?
Strong companies with forgettable visuals.
Egret Eye exists to challenge that.
